Bumper cars.
The Black Arts Co have produced a series of broadcast bumpers for the Bristol Street Motors and Macklin Motors sponsorship of the 2022 F1® season on Channel 4.
This year's series of bumpers tie in with the Bristol Street Motors Brand advertisement (below) and continue our character's stories. Built from the company’s heritage, history and unforgettable memories, these idents move through the iconic years that make Bristol Street Motors a staple in the UK motor industry. They also aim to show the part that Bristol Street Motors has played in the evolution of motorsport.
Gentleman Racer
Our 30s scene was shot at Brooklands Museum, the World’s first Grand Prix circuit, using the world-famous Napier Railton race car and our hero, Jack Noble.
The Rock Star Driver
The 70s F1 era is seen by many as the most exciting era to date, so we were tasked with doing this era justice. To achieve this, we used a genuine 70s Arrows FA1-Ford F1 car, a selection of F1 Archive footage and scene recreation to bring our character from the Brand Commercial to life.
The Technocrats
Our present-day bumper pays homage to the team principal, engineers, analysts, and mechanics that make everything possible with our Race Principle, Anya Conlon, joining from the Brand Ad. Set in a F1 modern garage, we gave viewers an insight into what goes on behind the scenes of an F1 race. We used CGI to recreate a 2022 Formula 1 car and genuine F1 equipment to bring this scene to life.
We're incredibly proud of the outcome and we truly believe it represents three iconic eras of F1 motorsport incredibly well. Keep an eye out for the F1 idents during Channel 4's coverage of Formula 1.
